The Greater Hartford Area

Hartford Proper

Hartford is Connecticut's capital city,The West End of Hartford West-Enders feel an enormous sense of pride in their neighborhood. Locally-owned shops and restaurants provide a sense of community, and history abounds.
Five sections of the West End neighborhood are listed on the National Register of Historic Districts. This represents about 70% of the entire neighborhood. A great town to buy a condo in CT (more).

One of the suburban communities that make up the Greater Hartford metropolitan area is West Hartford. West Hartford is an excellent choice for a purchase of a beautiful house or condo.

The Connecticut River Valley & The Farmington River Valley

When we say "The Farmington Valley", generally that means Avon, Simsbury and Farmington, those being the major town centers.

These towns have character, charm and plenty of historical sites. We have bed and breakfasts, inns, mills that have been converted to taverns; farms that are still farms but ones that are now other things, like recreation areas, polo grounds, camps or golf courses. And yes, a river runs through it all: the Farmington River. It is our most precious resource, providing 100% of the drinking water for the Greater Hartford area.

"Even the most deeply rooted older suburbanites are rediscovering the joys of cities. Developers are converting old factories and offices into expensive lofts, and aging baby boomers with fat retirement funds and empty nests are snapping them up."
